The Athabasca oil sands region has been void of comprehensive waste management solutions to serve the needs of energy producers. Oil sands operators from the region often have to ship waste products significant distances to facilities in other regions.
We recognized the important need to reduce transportation costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
Pure Environmental is developing integrated waste management facilities in the heart of the region. These facilities include an Engineered Class II Landfill, Hydrovac Pad and a Geothermal Cavern that will be adjacent to one another. This will provide a local option, significantly reducing the overall cost of waste management, reducing the environmental impact of long-haul trucking and reducing the impact on our highways.
